Change. Beauty. New life. There are many symbolic meanings associated with the majestic butterfly. In Greek mythology butterflies are linked to the human soul. The ancient Greek word for butterfly is "Psyche", which means "soul". Eros' human lover was named Psyche and in art they are often surrounded by butterflies.
When I see a delicate butterfly float by, I often think about loved ones that have passed. This post is in loving memory of them.

I love this post! Butterflies are the sweetest creatures and they make me so happy!
Beautiful post and beautiful shots of the butterfly. Such a gorgeous yet delicate creature. xoxo
cristin, I love this post there is something so etherial about watching a butterfly fly through the air, it kind of sweeps me away. Love the bouquet!! Kathysue
I love these and especially love that quote :)
I love this post! I've been anxiously awaiting to find out who the winner is of the Stella & Dot earrings giveaway and was wondering if I missed the announcement?

These are beautiful, and so original! I love the butterfly bouquet, it's such a clever idea.
sweet post. i love the bouquet too!
Nice way to remember someone.
Lovely Cristin. I know quite a few folks who associate butterflies with loved ones who are gone. They're a lovely reminder that though someone may no longer be with us, they're never truly gone from our lives.
These are so cute! My name (Vanessa) means a genus of butterflies and I still have (somewhere) the Grade 5 project I did on them.
Somehow I never knew butterflies were associated with loved ones who are gone. Now the butterflies that my great grandmother embroidered are even more special to me! They are in my daughters room now which may soon have a wall with the letter B turned into butterflies! We'll see :) Love this post!
These images are all gorgeous, especially that plate and tea cup!
Gorgeous post Cristin! I wasn't aware of their meaning in Greek mythology but have always loved them for the happiness they bring. xo
I love "butterfly kisses" and "butterflies" in my tummy. I still get them on occasion when I am nervous or excited about something....like on my wedding day, or when my twins were born!
