Interior Design Trend Forecast for 2011

The most extraordinary spaces are personal, inviting and evolve overtime.  Great interiors contains highs and lows, old and new and a blend of pattern and texture. They don’t look like they’ve been plucked from the most current and in demand furniture catalog. So, when asked  “What are the most important trends for 2011?”, I tried peeling away the current images of chic product ads and focused on décor elements that are timeless, innovative or making a resurgence. So with that, here is what’s trending for 2011…

  5. I've always loved animal prints and always will! I even used red zebra ribbons in my wreaths for the holidays. The bold color I do see as the biggest influence for the coming year -- nice fresh change. Your images are great.

  10. Well, since I recently stenciled the top 1/3 of the walls in my landscape design home office with a silver & white quatrefoil design, I'm glad I'm right on target with the stenciling and bold print! I stenciled because I wasn't brave enough to try wallpaper but it didn't take me very long to WISH I had wallpapered instead!

I don't know what the trends are INSIDE a home but I'm enjoying the new outdoor trends toward sustainability and 'growing local'.

  16. Thanks for compiling the possible interiors next year. My wife has also anticipated some of these for our house remodel (MN-based). Moreover, such designs were also agreed by the group of remodelers (Minneapolis-based), whom we consulted. Thanks again for posting!

Also seeing a lot of white/neutral cream - accessories. We will be highlighting this white kick soon on our blog My Design Guide
